Dear Vail Community,

Over Spring Break, several break-ins occurred at three Vail schools -- Rincon Vista Middle School, Senita Valley Elementary School, and Corona Foothills Middle School.

A brief summary of these acts:

Sunday, March 14...

*The RVMS administration building was broken into around 4:00 a.m. The vandals also broke into the school offices and stole three laptop computers, an LCD projector, and a DVD player.

*Office doors were damaged, windows were broken, and furniture was damaged.

*The SVE/RVMS MPR kitchen was broken into. The kitchen office window was smashed, the office was ransacked and the dry food storage door was destroyed.

*Vandals entered the music offices at both RVMS and Senita Valley Elementary School. A window was broken in the elementary school music office.

*Vandals broke two windows to in the SVE/RVMS library.

Monday, March 15...

*Corona Foothills Middle School experienced a break-in during the early morning hours of

Monday, March 13.

*Individuals shattered an administration building window and tried to pry open the snack bar

window.

Thursday, March 18...

*At about 2:00 a.m. the SVE/RVMS MPR kitchen was again broken into and two computer

towers were stolen.

*Vandals also broke through the temporary plywood window of the SVE/RVMS library.

The damage and theft from these break-ins have resulted in over $13,000 worth of losses to our schools. We are asking for community support in helping to find the individuals who
committed these crimes.

The District is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest

of these individuals.

Thank you for your cooperation to keep our schools safe and beautiful. Our schools work very hard to maintain safe and attractive facilities for our students.
